HTC and Google have been creating smartphones together for some time now. One of their newest handsets is the EVO 4G for Sprint. Not only does this device pack a 1 GHz processor, a 4.3" touchscreen, Android 2.2, two cameras (one for photos and video; the other for video chat) and a kickstand, but it's also the world's first smartphone to use 4G data service. Also, the EVO 4G can be used as a mobile hotspot for up to 8 WiFi enabled devices! All of this can be yours for $200 with a 2-year contract.

Obviously, the HTC EVO 4G is one of the biggest smartphones to be released. So big that some consumers may have to update their wardrobe just so it can fit into their pant pockets. However, the 4.3 inch touchscreen provides a better experience when surfing the web, watching videos, and reading emails on the go. If you're the type of person that likes to watch movies on their phone, there's a sturdy kickstand on the back so you can sit back and enjoy them anywhere. Also, the EVO 4G has an HDMI output for those who like to share photos and videos on a much bigger screen.

Thanks to the 1 GHz processor inside and HTC Sense UI, the EVO 4G is super fast and can handle anything you put it through. Whether it's listening to Last.fm while answering emails and text messages or talking to friends while watching the latest turtle video on YouTube, this smartphone can do it and then some. You can even kick on the mobile hotspot feature, while doing your thing, and not have to worry about data speeds dropping in the process. You also get the usual features such as GPS navigation, full HTML web browsing, upgradable memory, among others.

The HTC EVO 4G runs on Android 2.2, which offers lightning fast performance and has thousands of apps available through the Android Marketplace. However, the biggest feature of the EVO is the 4G data service. 4G is basically cellular broadband: you get about the same internet speeds as you would on your desktop. This means that Sprint is the only U.S. carrier that can support it, since the have the only 4G network up and running in certain markets. You can't get coverage everywhere (yet), but those that can won't be disappointed.

Good review. The screen size and 4G should make for a great user experience. I have read that their are issues with the casing so check it our carefully prior to buying. Also, if you are interested in getting some money towards the purchase of the HTC EVO then consider selling your old phone at someplace like www.SellYourCell.com. Sorry for the promo but we are trying to get the word out as only 10% of people recycle/resell their old phones and they can get good money for recent generation phones. There are a lot of great new phones just hitting the market. Happy shopping.
